Taylor Swift - 1989 - Review.

Ever since the first time Taylor popped on my screen, standing on a balcony, singing about a Love Story, i've wholeheartedly loved the girl. In my opinion, she's an amazing musician, she has a lovely voice, writes catchy songs and is all in all one of my favorite artists. And i'm telling you, when you're a 16 year old girl, and you think your life is over because the boy you fancy doesn't notice you, and big TSwift brings out a song called 'You Belong With Me'? That one song becomes your Bible.

Ok so, her new album. When Shake it Off came out, i was pleasantly surprised. The song is utterly different to any song off of her last album, Red; which again, i cherish. Yet i still ended up shaking my stuff around my bedroom. One point to Taylor for being versatile. She's scrapped the whole Country pop image and moved on to a more electro poppy 80's themed vibe. I'm totally game for this, who doesn't love a bit of 80's?

Now i hate to say this but, listening to her full album the first time i was slightly disappointed *gasps in horror*.

I'm sad to say however,Welcome to New York, is slightly repetitive and lets her lyrically genius mind down. The main reason i love Taylor is the way she writes stories within her songs. So to listen to 'Welcome to New York' and 'Out of the Woods' where it is mainly the title repeated several times? It was very disappointing.

However. I'm probably now listening to the full album for the tenth time in a row and i have officially fallen in love. The songs are nothing like her last album, there aren't really any deep, emotional heart string pullers like 'Last Kiss'; it has more of a feel good, sing along, positive vibe about it. This, i guess, is a good sign for our Taylor; at least she isn't going through 12 songs of heartbreak this year.

On the Deluxe version, Taylor has added a few voice memo's which are basically her thoughts on particular songs and how they were initially created. I'm not in the slightest bit musically talented and know nothing about writing songs. But the little memo's are so cute and interesting that even i appreciated the song more after listening to her. It's a great little addition to the album (although i'm not going to lie, i would of preferred an acoustic ballad similar to her rendition of 'Haunted')

I am extremely upset i won't be attending her world tour, but unfortunately, i don't have a spare £70.00! It really is great album and i would suggest it to even the most unlikely Taylor Swift fan.

To conclude. Great Album. New sound. I love Taylor. You should too. The End.

FIRST POST

I'm Jessica, 19 years old, and currently working in an average office job whilst trying to figure out what i want from life. I absolutely love to read blogs, from make-up to food to travel stories to fashion, there's so many out there! I am also quite in love with Youtube, i must watch a video a day at least. With the amount of time i spend reading blogs, i thought best to start my own!

I'm from Bolton, Manchester - a quiet town of which i'm desperate to get out of! London is the dream of course like many. Then again, i absolutely adore Manchester City Centre. So basically i wish to move to a City as soon as possible. I thrive off of Cities, there is so much to explore, so much to do, so may new places to try out - completely the opposite to Bolton! The most excitement we have is Nandos (although i do love a good Nandos).

I'm not quite sure yet what i shall be posting about as of yet. I mainly read beauty bloggers so the occasional makeup post from me is a 100% guarantee. But mainly it will be lifestyle, what i'm up to, what i'm thinking/wearing/reading/cooking/watching/seeing etc etc.

So here's a cheeky few pictures of my face and the past memories i have selected to appear on my very first blog post!
